President's Message
Michelle Lew, President, Geotechnical Society of Singapore (GeoSS), 2026–2027
I am honoured to serve as President of the Geotechnical Society of Singapore (GeoSS) for the 2026–2027 term.
Over the past 18 years, GeoSS has grown into a collaborative and thriving community, shaped by the dedication of our members and the leadership of nine past presidents whose legacy I am committed to carrying forward with care and purpose.
As we embark on this journey, our committee has set out four key priorities to guide our work. We are dedicated to advancing technical excellence through seminars, site visits, and knowledge‑sharing that deepen expertise and push boundaries; supporting young engineers by creating opportunities to grow, connect, and present on international platforms; championing women in geotechnical engineering by fostering mentorship, visibility, and leadership opportunities that empower lasting impact; and promoting wellness through personal development and sports activities that help our members remain strong, balanced, and ready to excel.
GeoSS exists for its members. I warmly invite you to participate in our events, contribute your ideas, and connect with fellow practitioners. Together, we can strengthen our community, elevate our practice, and shape a more impactful future for geotechnical engineering.
